After studying writing at the University of Houston, Texas, Terrence O'Brien's writing career began with
translating and re-setting opera librettos, as well as writing music and lyrics for songs. After writing an original opera libretto, friends response of, "This has to be a movie!" led
Mr. O'Brien to undertake extensive training in scriptwriting, which has been his main focus in writing since 2004.
Entry into professional script writing came
for O'Brien when he co-wrote one season of the Belgium based children's television series, The Droogles. Scripts for a full length American feature film, Shattered
Frontier, and a full length independent film, Almost Ideal, will be marketed in the near future.
O'Brien was honored to
have director/writer Stefan Asang approach him to co-write the screenplay for the feature film 12
Theses, a mystery thriller based on the book Cruor by Swiss author Herbert Blaser. 12
Theses will be released in 2016.
Mr. O'Brien is
currently working on a script set in World War 2, which will contain many never before exposed elements of the war. The story will be told from two different perspectives, that of a Main Line
Philadelphia university professor turned soldier, and that of a young German officer's wife in Cologne.
